Start your day with a visit to the Old City of Jaffa, home of Simon the Tanner. Drive north along the Mediterranean Sea to Caesarea,to view ruins of this Roman and Crusader stronghold and where the Apostle Paul was held in prison for two years. We continue on the Muhraka on Mt.Carmel, where Elijah defeated the priests of Ba’al. On to the strategically located city of Megiddo and it’s 30 layers of cities. Here is the location of what is known in our day as the Valley of Armageddon. Dinner and overnight: Kibbutz hotel on the Sea of Galilee.
Start your day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Visit Capernaum and the ruins of the ancient synagogue that dates to the first century. Continue to Mt. of Beatitudes; Drive to Hazor, an ancient Canaanite city that was rebuilt by King Solomon. Ascending the Golan Heights to Caesarea Philippi located at the foot of Mt. Hermon. Visit the former Syrian fortifications and overlook Syria from Mt. Bental. Descent to the eastern side of the Sea of Galilee to Kursi; where some say that Jesus cast out the demons from the man of Gedara. End the day at Yardenit, the baptism site on the Jordan River. Dinner and overnight: Kibbutz hotel on the Sea of Galilee.
Visit Kibbutz Ginosar on the Sea of Galilee to see an excavated boat from the time of Jesus. Continue to Cana, the site of Jesus’ first miracle, and to Nazarethand the Church of Annunciation. We will drive south through the Jordan Valley to Beit Shean and see the excavation of this ancient Roman city that was destroyed by an earthquake. Travel south past Jericho to the Dead Sea where you can enjoy a relaxing dip in its mineral-filled waters. Dinner and overnight: Ein Boqek.
Visit the fortress of Massada, where Jewish zealot defenders made their last stand against Rome in 73 CE. Continue along the shore of the Dead Sea to Ein Gedi, where David was chased by King Saul and today is a wonderful nature preserve. On to Qumran to see the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Drive to Jerusalem, upon entry to Jerusalem we will stop and have a special “Shechiyanu Service” at the Haas Promenade. Dinner and overnight: Jerusalem.
Start your day at Mt. of Olives for a magnificent view of Jerusalem. Descend to Kidron Valley to visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of all Nations. Continue to Mount Zion and visit the room of the last supper and nearby King David's Tomb. Enter the Old City by Zion Gate for our walking tour to the Jewish Quarter through the Roman Cardo wonderfully restored to its appearance at the time of Christ. Proceed to the Western Wall and visit the western wall tunnels. See the southern steps at Davidson Center. Continue to the Via Dolorosa. and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Dinner and overnight: Jerusalem.
Today we will visit the New City of Jerusalem. Pass by the Knesset Israel's Parliament House and its giant menorah. Visit Yad Vashem, Holocaust Museum. Continue to the Israel Museum to view the Dead Sea scrolls and the model of Jerusalem from the Second Temple. Afternoon visit to Beth Lehem and visit the Church of the Nativity. Dinner and overnight: Jerusalem.
Drive via the Elah Valley where David slew Goliath to Neot Kedumim, a biblical landscape reserve located just outside of Jerusalem. Here you will have a unique introduction to the natural treasures and beauty of ancient Israel. Continue to visit Mini Israel, a miniature park displaying hundreds of models of buildings and landscapes from around the country. Return to Jerusalem for evening departure to Ben Gurion Airport for return flight.
